Fern Forest Encore - Original

$3,650.00
sold out

Sharon Quirke's original work from 2024, 'Fern Forest Encore'.

22” x 30”. Acrylic on Canvas.

The piece is about the warm glow of the North Shore summer forests. Featuring sun-spangled undergrowth of sword ferns, greenery and ever-changing surprises.

The labyrinth of paths around the Cleveland Dam leads runners, marchers and dawdlers up, down, and around - always scented with green and gold, dappled in sun or shade, softly padded with needles, leaves and mosses, inviting and enticing into the next stand of trees and peek-a-boo views of the west coast sky — and onward.

The stretcher bars for the canvas are built by hand.  Red and yellow cedar is locally sourced from Sunshine Coast beaches, and hand-milled by master craftsman, Ian Thomson.
